A recent study stated that e-cigarette increases the risk of chronic lung diseases like asthma, bronchitis, emphysema. A study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that people using both e-cigarette and tobacco were at an even higher risk of lung disease. The study says that the e-cigarettes are harmful and the effects are much similar to that of using tobacco.
India banned the sale of e-cigarettes just a few month ago. But the comparison in risk of lung disease in adults is comparatively high when using tobacco than that of e-cigarettes. Scientists are working to determine the cause of Evali (Evali is the name given by the centers for Disease Control and Prevention to the newly identified and dangerous lung diseases linked to vaping) as the physiological studies in both animals and humans proved hat e-cigarettes suppressed the immune system and increased the stress level protein in lungs. The study reveals the number that the current users of e-cigarettes were 1.3 times likely to develop chronic lung disease and tobacco smokers increased their risk factor by 2.6 times.
