With raging competitors in the market like Prime & Hotstar, Netflix is trying its leverage with India by providing discount for longer subscription plans. Netflix is testing out the scheme of 3 months, 6 months & 12 months respectively in India by providing discounts based on the subscription model chosen by the user.

The users can avail the 3 months subscription with 20% discount at Rs. 1,919 instead of Rs. 2,397; 6 months subscription with 30% discount at Rs. 3,359 instead of Rs. 4,794; 12 months subscription with 50% discount at Rs. 4,799 instead of Rs. 9,588 respectively.
NetflixNetflix has 4 plans running operationally in India. The Mobile only plan at Rs. 199 per month, Basic plan at Rs. 499 per month, Standard subscription at Rs. 649 per month and Premium at Rs. 799 per month. Right now, the company is testing the rates for India by giving it at a discounted price. This could be a strategy run by Netflix to have more Premium Subscribers.
Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings has revealed plans to invest Rs. 3,000 crores this year to develop more localized contents for the Indian audience.
